Le Monastère des Augustines is a haven of heritage, culture, peace and wellness as part of the original site of the continent's first hospital north of Mexico. For nearly four centuries, the Augustinian Sisters devoted themselves to caring for body and soul.
To begin, guests will be invited into the Cloister for a relaxation yoga instruction designed to stimulate and harmonize your body. This one-hour class is focused on breathing exercises, stretching, posture and meditation. Following the class, guests will be welcomed with a private tour of the museum. The Augustinian Sisters acquired 40,000 artifacts retracing the evolution of healthcare, agriculture, community life and commerce from the very beginning of New France to modern day. After this unique look into the history of Le Monastère, all are invited to create your own multi-purpose healing balm inspired by the sister's wisdom and knowledge. At the conclusion of your morning, guests will have the choice to stay for lunch at the monastery or depart to enjoy lunch at leisure in Québec.
We are thrilled to offer this remarkably unique and immersive experience for spouses during the Producers Business Meeting.
What better way to get acquainted with your surroundings than with a local Québécois sharing the history of the city on foot. We are offering two walking tour experiences catered to your interests. This walking tour will also give guests an understanding of the area and an overview of several notable points of interest as you make your way from Lower Town to Upper Town, but will focus on how military and government play an integral role in Québec City with visits to the Citadelle and Governer General Residence.
Citadelle - Located atop Cap Diamant, the Citadelle constitutes the eastern flank of Québec's fortifications. Inspired by it, romantic writers have called Québec the "Gibraltar of America". The 30-year construction of the Citadelle began in 1820. The continued presence of the Royal 22e Regiment at the Citadel since 1920 makes it the largest fortified group of buildings still occupied by troops in North America.
Governor General Residence – Located in the heart of the Citadelle of Québec and overlooking the majestic St. Lawrence River, this splendid heritage structure has served as the second official home & workplace of Canada's governors general since 1872.
